Len had his first soccer game of the season this weekend. He had a little trouble remembering that when you're goalie, you're probably better off watching the ball than fussing with your glasses or posing for anyone who might happen to be taking pictures of you. Heh.
The boys were very noisy and howly all through midday, and Baby refused to nap, so everyone was pretty tired by 5PM when it was time to pack up the little red wagon and walk to the downtown portion of our neighborhood for the festival. We stopped at the booth for Len's tae kwon do, and for Baby's daycare (which is also where Len himself had gone to preschool), and then met up with the rest of the family, my parents, my sister and Dave, and Fred and Marilyn. We had some food, and then Dad took Fred and Len to the bounce houses, thank goodness. That's always my least favorite part. Baby got to ride on swings, and we all hung out and talked for awhile until we decided to go back to Colleen's for some Wii time before the laser show at 9.
That all worked out pretty well. Baby liked watching them set off the hot air balloons' fire jets, or whatever they're called. He was convinced my mom was making them go and kept telling her to do it again!
Fred and Len played some Wii till Fred got bored so then Dave played with Len. Baby found a toy laser rifle as big as he was and hid around a corner so that we could only see the rifle, which he kept raising and shouting triumphantly, "BANG!" Then he'd laugh hysterically.
Fred and Len watched the laser show from right near the screen and Marilyn and Baby fell asleep in the stroller and wagon, respectively. Then Dave kindly loaded the wagon into his truck and drove us home. Baby perked right up of course and would not go to sleep for awhile.
What else this weekend? Pottermore opened up so I signed Len up and we played right up to his Sorting. We're saving that for my sorting party. It should be awesome.
Today the boys went to the Sanford zoo with my parents, which I know they enjoyed. Len is Xboxing right now because he cleaned up his room and bathroom, and Baby is napping.
I'm going to make them waffles for dinner. :)
