this weekend was spent in the lap of luxury. dad got the family booked into hotel intercontinental for a night, so we spent the whole afternoon shopping at bugis junction and enjoying the convenience of having the hotel room only a stone's throw away to dump our spoils and rest our weary feet when we were done. this is really the best way to shop. :D came away with a pair of pretty green sandals that fit my feet to a T and other random items. i've done enough shopping for the rest of the month, really.
also ventured, courtesy of my trendy sister, into the bugis street maze for the first time in my life. this is pasar malam, far east plaza and the annex at heeren all rolled into one ... the first floor is all stuffiness, crowds and blaring thai music, but on the second floor (yes, there are escalators installed in this place!), you get an airconditioned space with shops crammed into small spaces that selling quirky / funky fashion items. we spent at least two hours in this hot-house, and the only things i got were a big bag of marshmallows with jelly centres, lemon and cheese biscuits (reminiscent of primary school snacks) and fish keropok, which were promptly consumed during the viewing of jian4 gui3 on tv later. sigh ... i am not a scary / ghost show kind of person.
also, getting inspired by the 91.3 radio music (in particular, MJ's man in the mirror) playing in the hotel gym to do the usual 5km run PLUS cycling and cross-training.

so now i am totally unprepared for the full 5-day week ahead. :(
