Monday, Monday
Today was a nice day at work, I knew exactly what I was supposed to do, and I got it all done. I wanted to leave right after my meeting ended at 3 to get an early start for our Brady Girls dinner at the lake, but no such luck. It was 3:40 before I got away. Lycan didn't want to pee, so I was longer at home than I wanted to be, and there was a huge gaper's block delay on the freeway (for a car pulling a tiny U-Haul trailer, that was completely off on the shoulder with a flat tire), so it was 5:15 before I got to the lake. *Sigh*
But we had a nice dinner, peppery cocktail wienies for hors devours, teriyaki pork tenderloin with a home made peanut sauce over ramen noodles with honey roasted peanuts, a Mandarin tossed salad with asian dressing & slivered almonds, parmesan focaccia bread, and gooey chocolate brownies with Gillies frozen vanilla custard for dessert. as well as this meshed together, no one knows what anyone else is bringing before hand.
After dinner we went for a pontoon ride around the lake, accompanied by a few sprinkles. We got back before the next band of storms passed through, and it was done before we left. I found out at my meeting this afternoon that one of my C4K project teammates also lives on Silver Lake, and from his description, I was able top pick out his house as we went around the lake. I really enjoyed the boat ride. Jan's brother-in-law, who lives next door, always Captains for us; and we haven't been out onto the lake in probably 3 years.
Today I am grateful for friends with boats, getting all of my work done, and my comfy chair. Aaaaaahhhh!
