Why RL and fandom are sometimes a bad mix

I'm in Chicago with intricate_life and fannyt. It is generally made of awesome. Except tonight, it managed to quite effectively kill two fandom characters as far as I'm concerned. Or, kill one, change another, rather. Long story short, we went to see an acoustic set with Jon and William Beckett (+ some other people). Opening act was pretty great. Very much liked them
