Well, tonight I went with Kim and her sis to the concert. It was Kims first true American concert (I guess she went to Celion Dion or something similar once...not an american concert) so she wanted to take me along since I have been various concerts and other such similar events. Going was actually her present to her sis for her B-day (she loves Linkin Park). So I was pretty excited to go since I wanted to go anyhow but didn't have anyone to go with....so this solved all problems. Yay!

The lineup was Less Than Jake, The Used, Snoop Dogg, Korn, and Linkin Park.

Less Than Jake - I was actually looking forward to them the most (besides Linkin Park). They were the opener, so that's always tough. But they were all right. I like their music. Their stage performance annoys me though. Eh. It was decent.

The Used - They are all right. Not my fav. band by any means. I don't hate them or anything...they just fall into that "another alternative rock band" category with me. They were pretty good, but I'm not rushing out to buy the cd or download their albums (illegally, of course)

Snoop Dogg - What the hell? Okay, I understand the point of the tour is to diversify music opinions of people (which it doesn't do a good job of doing. I mean, they have all been some type of rock for the tours, with the exception of our subject here) but Snoop Dogg? Right...Now I don't hate rap by any means. It's not my favorite genera, but I do find tracks I enjoy listening to. Unfortunately, very, very, very few of those are by Snoop Dogg. Add to the fact that I find Rap extremely boring live, and you will see that I wasn't fond of the performance. I guess it wasn't bad. I just didn't like it. I did use the time to get a $5 32 oz. soda however.

Korn - I actually like very few Korn tracks. I tend to be even more prejudice about them because they seem to be one of those popular hard rock bands that the "freak" kids like. Not saying there is anything wrong with that, but those groups (to me) are like the kids that like them: wanting and trying to be different by saying, "piss on you society, I'm differnt" all while wearing the same thing and shopping at Hot Topic for T-Shirts that cost around the same amount as American Eagle ones. (nothing wrong with Hot Topic. I know some of you shop there. I think some of the T-shirts are really funny and I like some of the clothes. I just have a problem with people that want to be different so they shop at a chain store.) Getting back on topic, not a big Korn fan. I must say though, that they kick major ass and take many a name in person. They were great. I still don't think I'm going to run out to buy the albums, but I will make sure to see them the next time they come around. They were a lot of fun.

Linkin Park - Well, it was actually the exact same show that I saw with Lisa at the Meteora World Tour. Nothing wrong with that. It was a good show. Good show this time too. After all, you can't see someone twice in 5 months and expect it to be totally different. Linkin Park is fun. I know some people get sorta sick with them and all, but the depth to their music (not always the lyrics) and the melodies make it worth listening to. Plus, Breaking the Habit live is always a good thing (one of my most loved songs way before it became a single).

So yes, it was good fun. The Amphitheater is a lot of fun. I'm impressed with how many people it can seat. Word of advice though, don't get lawn seats. While the normal seats are built so you can see over the seat below you and easily see the stage down below, the lawn is basically standing room only and offers no incline. So unless you are in the very front, you won't be able to see anything on the lawn. Anyhow, Amphitheater is cool. Looking forward to a few more concerts there.

It rained like all get out today though. The cover is designed to keep the rain out, and it did while the rain was going straight down, but when the wind blows it gets trapped under the cover and basically pushes rain in. It was fun when it was a light rain because it turned it a mist, basically, and made it all foggy. But when it rained hard...wow! was everyone wet. It rained for about an hour, but it left my butt wet for the rest of the evening.

And that is that.

As a side note...Kim ran over the median (had flashbacks of national convention...both Kims too...hehe) by Steak and Shake. I was shouting, "Median! Median!" for about five seconds BEFORE she hit it. That was very funny. I also told her to move over to the left lane on the way there (she didn't know how to get there). She starts flying over, fighting traffic the whole way, to the right lane. I was yelling, "Left! Left!" in a very similar manner. That was also funny.

Good times. We took pictures, so I think I may post them when Kim sends them...or something.

Bed time for I says me!
Laters!
