We arrived on Thursday in Oakland, picked up Lien in san francisco, and drove north. We found our cabin in Forestville after a little searching, and settled in. It was the cutest thing! A nice kitchen, and the bedroom was more like a glass enclosed porch. There was a fold out couch in the living room, we took turns each night as to who got the bedroom. Luckily we're all good friends so it was fine sharing beds and rooms like that. Jackie brought her laptop so we could watch DVD's when we wanted. We went to Kozlowski farms and got yummy stuffs (jam, syrup, pancake mix, blueberries, salad dressing), went grocery shopping at the regular store for filler, then went back to the cabin to unload. We looked pretty set for the rest of the weekend in terms of breakfast and lunch; we were planning on going out to dinner a few times too. Like now. We were to Topolos (scene of my senior breakfast at high school, pretty classy) and had a most excellent dinner. I had sauteed prawns with chantrelle mushrooms and the house salad (goat cheese and walnuts), and we shared a bottle of wine made my the restaurant's winery (99' Alicate?) We topped it all off with coffee and rich desserts like chocolate mousse, a piece of flourless chocolate cake, and a piece of cheesecake. My god, I hadn't eaten this kind of food in a while, having been mostly grazing from my garden the last month or two. Back to the cabin, to relax (we'd gotten up at 4am that day) and watch My Fair Lady and some sex in the city DVD's that Jackie brought. I hadn't seen sex in the city before, it was pretty good, I like how they portray friendship in that show. It was especially nice since we were four friends on a vacation, it seemed appropriate.
