yes! marissa was quick to clarify that she did, in fact, mean it as a compliment.
i thought it was funny that heather responded the way she did -- it was one of those validating moments wherein i realized that the ideals/values i've been trying to pass along to my children are actually taking hold. i like it that heather thinks homemade is better because even if it's not all that healthy (2 cups of heavy cream!), it's still not full of preservatives, chemicals, fake food products, etc.
what excellent qualities you have: strong interpretation skills AND you know how to think like a kid!
