A thought for Anime Fans out there
I know that none of my anime focused friends will go to Denvention in August. I would like to make an alternative idea to those fans. Sign up for a Supporting membership to Denvention and vote in the Hugos instead. The Hugos are the fans choice awards of Science Fiction/Fantasy fandom. Anime doesn't have an awards show this year (doesn't look like we are having an American Anime Awards unless it is at Otakon.) Anime has had a couple of great films and shows that deserve some recognition.
Paprika and Le Chevalier D'eon are two that I have recommended to the people who read the Hugo Recommends Live Journal (http://community.livejournal.com/hugo_recommends). These anime deserve to be nominated for Hugos. We are in the nomination time for the Hugo's. The nominating deadline is March 1st, but if you want to nominate you must be a supporting member by January 31st. Go to http://www.denvention.org to register and nominate for the Hugo Awards.
