Prologue Chapter 1 Chapter 2
For the rest of the day, Micky just tagged along with me and the rest of the guys since it was his first day and he wasn’t sure of his way around the campus yet. I could tell he was not very good with directions. However, this gives me the chance to observe him. He kept on looking at Yunho and Jaejoong trying to decipher what exactly is between the two of them. Were they just good friends or lovers? I could see the confusion on his face.
“Don’t think so much about it.” I said, walking next to him, as we make our way to the cafeteria for lunch.
“How do you know what I was thinking about?” He asked in surprise.
“Déjà vu?” I teased, this was beginning to become a habit, the ability to read him.
“You were looking at them and frowning at the same time, it’s easy to guess what you were thinking about.” I said in reply to his question.
“So? Do you know what is their relationship?” He asked me.
“No. I never asked them about it. They will tell me when they feel like it.” I said shrugging my shoulders, even if I do know; it was not my place to say.
“Don’t it bother you?” He asked in curiosity.
“No, does it bother you?” I countered, looking straight at him as I said that. Was he homophobic? That could explain why he couldn’t understand their relationship.
He shrugged his shoulders, not answering my question. I let it pass. He seems to be staring at me this time, the second time today. I could tell he was trying to see how I fit into the puzzle, was I one of the agents? I smiled at him and he suddenly seemed to remember where we were.
“Don’t forget I’m a psychology major.” I reminded him, well, I was not really but you do learned something from the years on the force.
Changmin has dashed out of the room when the class ended and the rest of us hadn’t bothered to catch up with him, walking down the corridor at a more leisurely pace. When we finally caught up with him, he was already seated at a table with his lunch in front of him, but he did saved seats for the rest of us. We went and bought our lunch and sat down to enjoy ourselves, especially the “couple” who ignores the rest of us.
“So, how did you guys know each other?” Micky suddenly asked when we had finished our lunch.
The guys looked at each other for a while before they all turned to look at me expectantly.
“What? Why me? Ok. I’ll start.” I sighed dramatically. Well, luckily for us, we have already discussed this before, what our relationship to each other was.
“Changmin and I are neighbours, we lived in the same apartment, just a few doors away from each other.” Well, he had to be close to me since we were working together.
“You picked him up along the corridors too?” Micky teased.
“No, not you too.” I blushed, dammit why do they keep saying that?
"Hyung, come to think of it, we did meet along the corridors too." Changmin butted in with his observation.
“We are not going into that.” I warned, enough of that already. The boy seems to take his role as a naughty younger brother too seriously. I narrowed my eyes at him and he stopped whatever he wanted to do.
“Yunho and I used to be neighbours but his family moved away during high school and we only just met up again recently in school.” I continued with the story, ignoring Changmin’s previous comment.
“Then what about Jaejoong?” Micky asked, looking closely at our faces.
“He’s with me.” Yunho stated, giving Micky a look, which doesn’t brook any more questions. It usually worked this time was no exception, Micky kept quiet after that, to our relief.
“So do you all lived somewhere near the school?” He asked us. We nodded and told him where we lived, all within walking distance of each other, which we planned in the first place. We went home together and arranged to meet again the next day. After dropping off Micky, the rest of the guys went back with me to my place.
I called Sungmin to join us for our meeting at my apartment.
“So what do you guys think of Park Yoochun?” I asked the faces around me at the table. I wanted to know their first impression of the guy.
“Well, he seems like a nice guy.” Changmin said.
“It’s too early to tell.” Yunho said, the ever-cautious one.
“I think he likes you.” Sungmin suddenly said.
“What did you say? There was nothing in his file to suggest that he was gay and he seems troubled by Yunho and Jaejoong’s closeness today.” I said, not understanding what Sungmin was trying to get at. Was this information relevant to the case?
“Well, we didn’t knew Yunho swing the other way until someone special shown up.” Sungmin said. The couple blushed at his words.
“We could use that to our advantage.” Changmin said.
“How so? Are you trying to tell me to seduce him? What’s the point in that?” I asked him.
“No, just be nicer to him. You can catch more flies with honey. We want him to be on our side.”
“So, what do you think of him?” Yunho asked, bringing the subject back to the case before we got even more off course.
“Well, he is either a very good actor or he’s just totally clueless about the case. I agree with Yunho that we need more time to observe him. He could be a valuable ally to us later if he is as good as the file says.”
“You’re just trying to ignore the fact that you attract guys.” Changmin teased.
“You seem to be taking your role too seriously.” I said to Changmin.
“Denial. Someone’s in denial.”
“If there’s nothing else to report, you’re all dismissed.” I said to the rest, not even bothering to reply him.

Micky spent most of his days with us, more with me since we have practically all the same classes. The times he spent with the rest were sometimes fraught with tension because of Yunho. He was his usual self, protective towards Jaejoong but sometimes he was a bit too obvious and I could tell Micky was suspicious of him already though he had no concrete evidence to prove that Yunho was an agent.
I don’t spend everyday with them after school since I have to make my report to my supervisor to keep him updated on the case and to keep in touch with Hyukjae who was still in the United States. I told Micky that I was helping out at my father’s company when I can’t be with them. He would usually tagged along with Changmin and the Jaeho couple as we dubbed them after school.
Changmin had not let up on the topic of Micky feeling something extra for me. He would often ask me how I feel about Micky and what did I think of him? I had managed to keep him out of my hair so far.
I know that Micky does seem to like me a lot. I have caught him staring at me a couple of times before. He usually blushed when I caught him but I did not comment on it. What could I say? It was at times like this that I missed Hyukjae. I need my best friend around to give me some advice.
“Xiah, so when is Hyukjae coming over?” Changmin asked me the night before.
“Soon, he should be here in a week’s time, once he have everything secured.” I looked over to him, wondering why was he suddenly interested in when Hyukjae was coming over. It’s not like they were the best of friends. Does this have something to do with Micky again? This boy had been obsessed with pairing the two of us up since he caught Micky staring at me. My suspicions were confirmed when he ask the next question.
“So, does he know about Micky?”
“Of course he knows about Micky, he’s on the case too in case you have amnesia.” I told Changmin sarcastically.
“No, what I mean is does he knows that you have another admirer in Micky?” He said.
“Shut up.” I knew what he was implying.
“You should, you know how he gets when someone tries to make a move on you.” Changmin reminded me. I did not want to think of the implications of that statement, this case was already complicated enough, I didn’t need more problems from my best friend.

At the mall
“So, are you missing Junsu hyung?” Changmin asked Micky in a teasing voice. He could tell from the forlorn look on his face that he was missing Junsu hyung. Furthermore the number of sighs he heard from the other today was another indication that he wished that he were with him than us.
“What do you mean by that?” Micky tried to change the topic.
“You like him, don’t you?” Changmin asked again, he could be stubborn when he wants to and he wants to see his hyung happy.
“Is it that obvious?” Micky asked in embarrassment, redness in his cheeks.
“Yes.” Three voices answered. Micky was surprised at our answer. He looked incredously at all of us. He was so obvious in his attraction to Xiah that even a blind man could tell. I shake my head at the man’s obliviousness.
“You might have to take a number.” Changmin continued, warming up to the subject, you could practically see the gears turning inside his head.
“What do you mean by that?” Micky asked in astonishment, not understanding the situation. That’s why Changmin took it upon himself to enlighten the man.
“He means that you’re not the only one interested in Junsu.” replied Yunho bluntly, driving the point across. Micky was shocked at the answer. Yunho could be useful at times like this.
“I…don’t see…” Micky stopped not knowing what to say. All three of us were nodding our heads to his unasked question.
“Do you want my help?” Changmin asked eagerly, if he helped to match-make the two, maybe Xiah would become less serious and strict. That’s what they all said about people being in love.
“Wait, does Junsu knows about my…erm…feelings?” Micky stuttered out, with a tinge of redness on his cheeks.
“Well, he hasn’t said anything about it.” Changmin replied. Xiah could be tight-lipped about things, one of his strong point but sometimes annoying trait.
Micky sighed at the answer. All three of us looked at him pitifully, he sure got it bad.
“So, do you want my help, you’ll need it, you know.” Changmin insisted again.
“Wait, aren’t you bothered that we are both guys?” Micky asked. We looked back at him pointedly. He dropped his gaze after a while.
“If you want to capture hyung’s heart, you have to work fast before he comes back.” Changmin continued while giving a calculated look to Yunho who nodded.
“He? Who is this he? What does he have to do with me trying to win Junsu’s heart?” Micky asked in puzzlement.
“You will know soon enough, he will be back soon. It will not be that easy to get close to Junsu hyung when he is back.” Changmin said.
