I seem to be in a writing mood and I hope to write not just one, or two, but three pieces of fanfic today. Okay, mostly likely it won't be three but certainly two. It helps that they are essentially the same story only twisted around in a few keys words and phrases to give off a different meaning. I'm hoping that the end will result will be quite spectacular, if I may say so myself. For those interested, here's a preview:
Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles: two fics, one titled Convenience and the other Nightmares. They revolve around Sarah and Cameron (obviously, ^^) and they deal with the idea that Cameron doesn't really feel any emotion at all even if she is in a sexual relationship with Sarah. One fic, Convenience, shows a Sarah that just doesn't give a rat's ass about it. The other fic, Nightmares, is where I write a Sarah that is teetering on the comfortable level of non-involvement on Cameron's part. This is also the fic I talked about above.
Mass Effect: I've had this idea kicking around in my head for a while and just recently decided to take another go at it. The premise is that the Prothean beacon Shepard came into contact with early on in the game gave her something more than mere memories: it gave her nightmares, flashbacks, and a good dose of PTSD.One night, Shepard is having flashbacks of things she never witnessed and the only person who can settle her down is Liara. If you haven't already figured it out, it's femShep/Liara, my ME OTP. :)
Now that I've given those who care a preview of what's in store, I thought I'd give a shout out to those who don't care about my fanfic writing but would still like to see me do some creative writing. If you are one of those who enjoy my writing and would like to see me write an original piece I offer to you a challenge. Send me a prompt, either through comment reply/PM/email/IM or even through snail mail if you *really* want to, of an original fic idea that can be finished in no more than...ten pages let's say. And I'll pretty much accept anything. I normally write female characters but I'm willing to branch out and write from a man's perspective (I actually have a rather masculine brain if you can believe that) and I particularly like stories that involve some sort of internal conflict that results in character development. First-person or third-person, morally-questionable or down-right fluffy, I'll do it. There's only a few things I won't do but, in all honesty, I doubt anyone would give me one of those prompts. And, and do try to stay away from any smut if you would be so kind. I can write it but it just takes me so long to do (and rewrite) that it just isn't worth it if I'm not already emotionally involved with the characters like I am in fandom.
If you're interested, think of something, anything, and send it to me. Prompt(s) can be anywhere between a sentence, a paragraph, a page, or even a word if you can't think of anything to contribute. Depending on how many prompts I get (if any) I may not get to yours in a timely fashion. I will make it a point to do all that I receive however. Who knows, this may just be a great idea.
In other, more normal news, I've just been hanging out really, watching good, ol' American Football.
Yes! I am a HUGE fan and I love watching football. It's been six long months since the Super Bowl and I am ready to go.
Oh, and by the way, my team is the NY Giants and yes, I was a fan before they won the Super Bowl in 2007. My family has a lineage of NY football watching I'll have you know and my sister and I are only the most recent generation to be involved.
If you don't bash my team, I wont' bash yours...for the most part. ;)
And I can already tell my mother is going to be needy and annoying today. Ugh.
