The past few days have not been pleasant. My neck has been horribly stiff and sore, creating headaches to boot. This has lasted for probably three days now, yesterday being the worst, and only a few hours previous has the Advil really started to work ( Read more... )

Not sure if this is much help but when I get neck cramps, from like waking up and looking down at my comp, stretching sometimes works, even if it hurts a little..do it little by little, and rub the sore area. I mean...i usually don't have them for more than a few hours, so maybe you do need to see a doctor, but yeah, just an opinion

I've been doing a lot of stretches, including ones for my shoulders, back, and arms. And when it hurts, all the better. I figure it means that I'm doing something right.

Thanks for the input though. It's slowly getting better, more stiff now than anything else. If it doesn't clear up in a few more days I'll definitely see a doctor, especially if it continues to produce headaches.

I believe that neck pain is one of the worst pains to have. It's difficult to do anything with a sore neck. My mom is a physical therapist assistant, and so she gets a wee bit excited when one of us complains of muscle pains. Anyone who says that muscle massages are relaxing has obviously never had one. They are so painful, I'd almost prefer to stay with a sore neck.

I would like to watch the Big Bang Theory. I am a fan of Johnny Galecki, and have been since I started watching late night Roseanne re-runs. His comedic timing is gold.

In my book, neck pain only tops menstrual cramps (the previous queen) because of its longevity. Of course, I'd rather have neither.

I understand with the muscle massages. I've had something similar done when I was a teenager that was used to help with my posture and mild scoliosis. It was from a Chinese tradition (I think) so I can't remember the name, but what I do remember is how bloody painful it was. He was basically breaking the tissue and muscle down, making it grow back stronger, or something similar to that. It may have helped, I do have better posture now.

I want to watch BBT for all the geeky references I pick up. I might not get the physics or comic book jokes but when they throw in Halo, Star Trek, or Battlestar Galactica references I laugh in delight. Some of the comedy is amusing as well and very unlike some of the shows on today (ie not overly sexual like Two and a Half Men). I will admit that I never watched Roseanne though. When it showed I was just too young.
