Thinking Positive

Jan 11, 2012 13:54

The mood in the office has been pretty great so far, mostly due to my boss no longer being stressed out by everything under the sun, yet there's something about these past few days that have been...strange, to say the least.

But, instead of bitching about it and how I feel more awkward at work than I have since I started as a full-time staff member, I'm going to list a couple of the things I'm enjoying about this week. Best to be positive, right?

  1. A song by Michael Buble called "Everything" (yes, jiji_bean, I get it now :P). Stupid thing makes me smile, happier, and singing to myself in the stacks at work. All stemmed from a music video I watched that, although not the best I've ever seen, is as cute as can be.
  2. A YouTube video that surfaced around Christmas called "A Year in the Life of a Gamer." That's half of my life every year so it's fun to see someone else chronicle it (maybe I should?). I'm also tempted to get a whiteboard only to write "PLAY MORE VIDEO GAMES!!!" on it.

  3. The West Wing. I'm completely binging out this weekend on this show and finishing Season 2. I'm serious. And I'll have three discs of it from Netflix out pretty soon. Yes, three discs. :D
  4. Writing. I'm thinking of asking for prompts to get my muse back up again. Little drabbly things. Y'know the drill. I hate thinking up projects and never finishing them. They wallow in my mind for eternity until I write them down. I'm even trying to figure out if I could manage a West Wing fic. Doubt it. Hrm...
  5. Video games. Right now I'm alternating between Batman: Arkham Asylum (for the platinum trophy) and Batman: Arkham City. And maybe back to Uncharted 3 to play it again on the hardest difficulty. Plus, Mass Effect 3 comes out in March and I may start a countdown. Or I may cry when I start it up. I've never been so involved in a game series than this one.
  6. Work really isn't that bad.

That's enough to be happy about this week, right? I don't need to be drowning in happiness but just enough to keep going. And, really, whenever I get home I start to get bored. Might be a by-product of so much time of from work during the holidays that seeing the clock read 1900 doesn't have the same ring as it used to. Or maybe I'm not freaking out of time anymore. *shrug*

This might even persuade me to clean out my LJ inbox! Oooooo. *thinks of West Wing discs* Yeah, right. lol

happy things, video games, fandom: the west wing, video, tv, fandom: mass effect, work, my so called life
