Now that the opening two-parter of Series 6 has ended, I believe I'm now ready to compose some, mostly useful, but most likely brain-fried, thoughts and comments on the two episodes.
So I agree with pretty much everything you've said here :P Loving Rory and River this season but hating how much everything is revolving around Amy and the way Moff is writing the Doctor. Also the way he is writing River/Doctor because, as you said, it's disappointed to think that he's going to go the easy option and just have her be his lover/wife whatever which IS NOT INTERESTING AT ALL. Honestly Moff.
I'm aching for some Rusty episodes right about now. With some consistent character development. Or character development at all tbh. And less mind-fucking.
Agree with much of this. I was just beginning to feel I knew Eleven and now he's all over the place - I think even people who loved him from the get-go have a few issues with him now. It leads me to wonder if there's still a Silent hidden in the TARDIS influencing his behaviour. The "Or we could just go adventuring..." was a peculiar 180 degree turn and that would explain it
( ... )
Eleven has been feeling rather off and I like your idea of a Silent being hidden underneath the TARDIS. Or perhaps the Dream Lord again? It felt like he was going to be making a reappearance from what he said last series. Or maybe this is the Eleven we were meant to see all along. *shrug*
I knew I wouldn't be popular on my views regarding Amy and Rory but I'm glad that what I pointed out raised some issues. I always felt the two of them were on separate planes, or different wavelengths, and that Rory took way too much of a beating that any self-respecting person should be able to tolerate. His devotion to Amy is obvious, I just hurt for him because it may just destroy him
( ... )
I honestly get the feel that Moffat was really annoyed at Davies when the latter was in charge and now he's trying to rewrite every rule he can think of. I can set aside my Doctor/Rose happiness for another love in the Doctor's life (I mean, we all move on...theoretically, except for my head canon :D) but River as his wife/lover is just so easy I get irritated when that appears to be all there is. And, who knows, maybe River is someone entirely different and all of the Doctor/River shippers will be screaming so loud the whole world will hear. Perhaps I'm underestimating Moffat...maybe....
That second paragraph...OMG, yes! I think I need my favorite form of Rusty therapy: TIP/TSP rewatch. Love the episodes.... *happy sigh*
In the same breath though, I remember a friend of mine chortling when Rusty trashed the coral TARDIS during Ten's regneration because it meant Moffat wouldn't get a chance to play with all of the old toys. Not that he hasn't brought it back this season anyway somehow (AND WHEN WILL WE BE SEEING TEN'S TARDIS ANYWAY MOFFAT?)
Doctor/Rose will always have my heart of course but in the same breath I would be happy if he moved on from all that heartache. But. I'm just finding the River/Eleven storyline...well, a bit boring tbh. And predictable. I'm still kind of waiting for Moff to pull something spectacular out of his butt on that front - and if he does I will gladly bow down to him. But otherwise? I think I'm just going to be disappointed :( which is sad, because I was never disappointed with New Who before Moff took over. With maybe the slight exception of the Dalek two parter in series 3 and a few bits here and there. Just...yeah.

Hehe. Although the TARDIS has changed a few times before so perhaps Moffat was happy about it? idk.
(I never saw Ten's TARDIS in the previews at all! I feel so dumb.)
Doctor/Rose will always have my heart of course but in the same breath I would be happy if he moved on from all that heartache. Yeah, pretty much. I mean, I'll probably always believe that they were too epic for anything else to even compare (and in my head they are always happy living in pre-AoG/DD Series 2 or Pete's World) but Eleven is so different, too different, and he needs to move on like people, and Time Lords I'm assuming, do. You may have met your soulmate but, for reasons one cannot fathom, you may not be able to be with them
( ... )
Yeah it's only in there for like a second. I nearly fell off my chair from excitement when I saw it :P but who knows what that's all about anyway.
I mean, I'll probably always believe that they were too epic for anything else to even compare That...about sums up my feelings about them too tbh. And hey, that's why we have AU and fanfiction right? Gotta love it.
Yeah but even a childlike infatuation like Amy's...that's just repeating a story he's already done in the previous season so that would be disappointing to me too! :(
Re Amy and River: well, technically, River came before Amy so Amy's story had already been done. River got there first...or last...IDK! ALL OF THIS TIMEY WIMEY IS MAKING MY HEAD HURT.
My brain hurt yesterday from all of Moffat's madness so I went and watched Classic Who and played video games. Then browsed on Teaspoon and Big Finish for five hours. Such joy....
So I can confess that once I made my edit I realized that I used the wrong "to" form (should have been "too") and although it bothered me to no end, I thought I had bombarded you with too many edit emails and choose to leave as is? Oh, the grammar shame! lol
(Love the icon, btw, although I'm not sure if what it says is a good thing....)
Teh internets are for porn after all. No arguments from me. lol
Mmm, spare time. It was a Sunday evening with a massive case of writer's block and too much traumatic brain injury. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been there. Of course, I had my credit card in hand for BF, trying to remind myself that rent was going to be a regular occurrence soon, while saving a huge amount of fics to be read....someday.... Right.
I'll try not to, but no promises. And why is everyone an English major around here anyways? lol.
I have been warned off of Twilight for various reasons but I may just choke on it a dozen pages in if I ever tried. I think I've banned it from my consciousness. Twilight what now?
*tires hard not to go into huge fits of laughter at Twilight rant during work hours*
OMG, that is the funniest thing I've heard all bloody day! (So it's only 1130 where I am, it still counts!). ROFLMAO at "*DIES AND HAS FANGIRLGASM WITH SPARKLY HEARTS*" SPARKLY HEARTS! LOL!
*dies of laughter*
Anyway....yeah...English major conspiracy. Well, at least I read my Greek and Roman mythology! Ha! And I will predict your every thought with my awesome psychology powers! ....I know, very unimpressive. lol.
!!! Avenue Q love?! It's so hard to find these days...best thing ever. I listen to the soundtrack on my worst days so I can remind myself that it isn't that bad really...
LOLLLL. Glad I could make you smile :D honestly though, that's what a lot of them are like! Terrifying.
I've always adored Greek mythology. Roman I'm not quite so savvy on but I can usually correct the boy when he uses the wrong name for a god or goddess :P
My cousin has just started Psych! There you go.
It's terribly irreverent and a bit inappropriate for most places that I frequent but I do think that it's spectacularly clever and very, very funny.
Have I ever told you that I love you? lol. Greek mythology is so twisted, fucked up, and absolutely mental that it takes a different type of mind to appreciate it. I mean, Aphrodite being born out of Zeus' sperm? Or the whole Orestia? And I'll admit that the names can be confusing but, on a whole, I stick with the Greek ones. Athena sounds so much better than Minerva, or Ares and Mars, Zeus and Jupiter...list goes on and on.
Psych, English, and Political Science: the three most useless and overused undergrad degrees. Still, if you go past the bachelor level you could really do something with it.
Avenue Q is pretty much all of those things but it doesn't stop me from thinking it. For the record I usually do take the stairs. ;)

Sounds gorgeous. Wish I had enough spare time to do all that :P
Aw, don't stress. This IS the internet. And if I didn't notice it, as an English Major, don't sweat it yeah? ;)
Yeah it's a brilliant icon - a bit scary in some ways but still brilliant. At least it doesn't say "Twilight" right? I'd crack up big time.
