I have a few moments to do some updating, something I've been sorely lacking over the past few months. I shall do it blurb-style because lord knows this post would be ginormous if I didn't restrain myself.
*Finally finished the semester with an A, an A- (that replaced a previous F) and a B.
*Signed on with a company for my summer internship. They are very passionate guys, very interested in what they do, and I get to do most of it from home. Hallelujah! I was worried that I was going to have to drop my work schedule down to 3 or 4 days a week to enable me to have time to do my internship. They informed me that most of my work will be from home and is flexible enough that I can do much of it at 2 in the morning, if I really want to.
*I have a bum knee. My knee has been bugging me for just over a week (not sure what I did to it). I went to the doctor and he gave me Celebrex, which had no effect initially. It's been helping lately, mainly because I've been trying to stay off of it, I think. I still have to hobble a bit and can't bend too deeply or stand still for too long. Speaking of hobbling, I managed to schedule all three of us in the pharmacy who have a bum leg. The extreme downside? We only had two chairs. We were kind of fighting over them for a bit, and it was sorta funny to see all of us hobbling around trying to get everything done for the day. I called us the "handicapped parade" which I know is wrong on so many levels.
*I just got some new (old) furniture.
*I have the best boyfriend in the whole world. He is everything I ever wanted: an intelligent, interesting person; a gentle, conscientious lover; a supportive, caring partner; and a great friend. He is my best friend, the other half of me that I knew was out there somewhere. I've said it before and I'll say it again, my 30s are the best decade yet!
*I have seen Star Trek and Wolverine so far in the theaters. Yet to be seen this summer season: Night at the Museum 2, Transformers 2, Land of the Lost, Up, Year One, Hangover, G.I. Joe, Public Enemies, Funny People, Ice Age 3, and Harry Potter 6. If we end up seeing all of these, we'll break my record for last year's theater endeavors (9 movies total).
*I lost my wallet. It fell out of my back pocket somewhere in between leaving my house to go see Star Trek (which was AWESOME) and having an early dinner at Olive Garden. I went home and cancelled everything in it, but now I'm going to have to spend money to get my license redone and my student ID taken again. Which makes me really irritated since I just got my license renewed and my student ID was only going to be good for another semester before I graduate.
*Speaking of which, I graduate in December. I'm really excited about not being in school anymore. Several people have been trying to get me interested in grad school, but I am so "schooled out," I cannot even conceive of voluntarily going back to school. If I'm interested in it, it's going to be after I go through a year of job searching and (hopefully) finding gainful employment. We'll see.
I hope everyone is having a good summer. I've got my internship and working full time lined up. I will be busy, but most definitely I'll still make time for friends and family.
