A note of absence and various things

My typist is finally rid of her exam (of course, there's another on its way in 30 days, but at least things are momentarily calmer) so I was expecting a bit more freedom. But now she got sick and can't stand being at the computer for long (her eyes hurt and she gets headache, she says). So I don't think I'll be around for a few days, except maybe to reply to comments and such things. I was hoping to get to the chatroom sometime, to see what it's like to talk to people there, but it looks like that'll have to be postponed. I'll be back when she's better, though.

Almost all of the Weasley family is here now. Bill Weasley seems like a really nice young man from what I've seen of him so far. Responsible, too. It's good to know that the Order today has such members. I have faith in that we will win this time, but I wish there was something I could do for the fight now. Hard to do much being dead, though.

I have to say I was very surprised by Hermione's news of her condition when she contacted me a couple of days ago to talk to me. The timing is certainly not the most sensible, but what is done is done and what she and Ron need now is help and encouragement, not being told what should have been done instead. And they're responsible young people and can deal with the situation, I'm sure. I was a few years older than she and already married and out of school when I and James had Harry, but some people still thought we were too young, and that we were foolish to have a baby at such times. Well, all I say is I definitely don't regret that decision. Never.

My typist is begging me to give the keyboard back to her own use before she gets too tired of looking at the screen, as she has things of her own to do. So I'll leave for now - gladly, she's using this time to read as much as she can, I'm enjoying reading those books with her. It's been a while since I had an opportunity to read much for pleasure, and I've always enjoyed it.
