I only have spotty memories of the show from way back, but I do remember really liking both Johnny and Roy, and the friendship between them, and how it all seemed very real and exciting.

anyplace that has 6 handsome guys in their underwear is a great place to be

I like your reasons (well, not just that one :-)). And 'friendships' -- one of the best reasons to love a fandom...

Underwear and TURNOUTS!! I'd forgotten turnouts with suspenders, until someone off LJ pointed out to me...*sigh*...I'm going to a happy place now. *G*

I adored this show and never missed an ep. I'm sure it was half the reason I went into nursing. Dixie was my hero. And my little preadolescent heart just swooned over Johnny Gage (and you're right, Mantooth is still one good-looking dude, he just had a short run on one of my soaps and looked so fine!).

I thought he was so cute...*swoon*. He is even more handsome in person, and seemly warm and generous.

He's the only celebrity that I've traveled great distances to see. If you count a plane trip to Chicago and a drive that included driving all the way across Tennessee and Arkansas in one day. *G*
