Soo. . .
So I've finally gone off the deep end and bought tickets for something halfway across the country. . . because I've been kicking myself ever since Starship for, ya know, not going to see Starship.
But, well, May 8th is my birthday, and on that day Starkid is going to be at the Digitour in Kansas, and there's said to be a wild Darren appearing . . . so I got myself a ticket. A backstage ticket. So I can, ya know, actually be able to say to them 'Hi. You guys are fucking amazing.' (Which will come out of my mouth as: 'OMG OMG OMFG *gibberish*')
So now that I've bought this ticket, I get to educate myself on how hotels and whatnot work . . . Trouble is, I kinda want to take the train (fear of flying). The train gets in at 11:52pm, which is way past hotel check in times, and I don't have a fucking clue as to what I'm doing. Also, the trip there would take very nearly two full days there and two full days back. And I'd lose two days of work.
So I may want to suck it up and take a plane. Problem two. Nearest airport to Lawrence, KS is in Kansas City, MO. Which is an hour away driving. The shuttle from the airport is $50. One way. So that, times two, plus hotel, plus travel, and heh heh.
Oh, also, the train station in Lawrence is a 15 minute walk from the venue. So . . . really the problem is the time period between the train getting there and when the doors open for the whole shindig. Which could be around 12 hours. Erm. Probably more like 8 or 9, but I doubt there's anything open between midnight and 9am in middle of nowhere, KS.
I don't know. Sorry for the rant. I'm just trying to figure this shit out. Anyone know anything about anything that may be helpful, drop me a comment. For now, I'm going to focus on getting the cash together. Which means a lot of fucking questions to answer on ChaCha. :P
