Was anyone else disappointed with this seasons season finales?
H50 is suffering under the mum/girlfriend curse. In which writers think women can only be a mum or a girlfriend. And nothing else. Dudes can be cops and villains and doctors and mechanics and scientists. With women, they can have jobs like those, but first and foremost, they're a mum or a girlfriend. It's dull. Kono used to be a cop. Now, she's a girlfriend whose job is a cop. And now, she's a fulltime girlfriend. It's annoying. I liked Adam/Kono, but hated how they just made her a girlfriend on this show after her being a badass for so long. Then there's Catherine. I adore Catherine. I hope Catherine dumps Steve and gets herself a non-Steve plotline. So far, her role on the show is to give Steve orgasms and information in turns. And little else. Which is boring. It reminds me of that scene in BBC Sherlock when one of John's girlfriends comments that he's an excellent boyfriend...to Sherlock. Well, Steve is a lovely boyfriend. To Danny. To Cath, he treats her like shit.
This entire season was too disjointed. Like...they didn't know what to do with the plots they started...every once in a while, they remembered to check in on Adam or Wo Fat or Doris or Gabby. So, it came off stilted and poorly paced.
Also, there's only so many times you can have these people under suspicion for crimes/actually doing crimes before the premise becomes unbelievable. There needs to be basic public trust in the body of H50 for it to make sense that the Governor would allow it to continue.
However, there were quite a few excellent episodes. Enough to keep my interest. Enough to get me to check out next season. I just hope it's the final one. I think that it's about run its course.
This show just gets more and more ridiculous. idek. I'm glad they didn't do Tiva because I like them better as friends. I really wish there were more instances where there are m/f friendships without sex involved or ust involved. The end...idek. I just hope it's the last season next year.
Okay. So, another show that suffered from an uneven season. I love Kensei/Deeks and I hope they go through with it. Too much of the show is making fun of Deeks. Which gets old after a while. Still, this is probably the most even show of the three. I dislike cliffhangers on season finales. But, meh. I just want the show to go back to mostly lighthearted undercover awesomeness.
