A new story
It was nice out finally. It had been raining for the last week, which was very inconvenient considering it was the first week of summer vacation. I was so happy but didn't no what to do with myself, being cooped u in my house for the last week got me out of the swing of things. I decided to go out for a walk through the near by field to get some fresh air and clear my thoughts. I found a nice spot on a rock ledge on the top of a hill and sat down to relax and to absorb the warm rays of the sun.
I sat there with my eyes closed listening to a Pixies c.d. that i brought along when I heard a voice speak to me. I opened my eyes and saw a beautiful girl of about 16, who was a grade above me.
She said "hey" and sat down next to me. A little confused, I simply said "hi" and asked " ' up?"
"Nothin' really... what is your name?"
"my name is Coal, and your self?" I replied.
"My name is Jolene... thats an interesting name you have there, how did you get it?"
"my parents are weird I guess, they wanted me to have a unique name, I got one."
" thats cool"
There was a weird silence after that, I was confused, not many people talked to me much. I was kind of a loner, it was even weirder to have a beautiful girl talk to me, this perplexed me so much that i asked her why she was talking to me.
"because you were all alone out here, and i figured any one who would sit in the middle of a field alone, is a worthy friend" she replied.
" so were friends?" i asked-some what put off.
" of corse, I know your name don't I, that should be enough" was her simply reply.
I felt kind kind of special, I never really had any friends, so this was nice. She asked me if I wanted to hang out later and i agreed, from lack of a better thing to do.
We exchanged numbers and she left without saying a word.
It turned out to be a good day.
