Coffee's On!

I figured I'd update y'all on the status of my first attempt at entrepreneurship. As you may or may not remember, J and I decided to start roasting coffee at some point during those first sleepless months as new parents. It seems obvious to me now that it was all an attempt to stay awake, but at the time it seemed completely unrelated to baby-having. Ahh, nice to know necessity still leads to invention and all that. Anyhow, it took many months to figure out exactly how we wanted to go about doing this, and then many more months after that to actually get it going, but now we have reached the moment we've been working toward . . . we are a full-fledged business with a site on the interwebs: Cellar Door Coffee can now arrive at your doorsteps with a few clicks of your mouse.

In addition to being an online venture we're also working at the Montavilla Farmers Market on Sundays until October, so if you happen to find yourself passing through Portland one weekend, stop by and have a cup on me.

We've been at the market the past three weekends and it's all been going amazingly well. Considering how much really good coffee is available in Portland it's great that people still greet us as though we're a sight for sore eyes. We're hoping to score a few wholesale accounts around town so if you have any ins with local restauranteurs or coffee shop owners give me a heads up. We even got our first bit of positive press in The Oregonian yesterday! Hilarious. The last time I was in the newspaper it was for getting tear-gassed by the cops. Somehow this is more fulfilling though, perhaps, less sexy.

Link my site, peeps, or no one will ever find us on Google!!! Mwah! Word up to Travis for helping us with the ol' website. You rock!
