THEY DIDN'T BRING SOUSHI BACK!!!!!!! GGGGGYYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! WHY?! WHY?! WHYWHYWHYWHY?!?!??!?!?!?!? F***ing, garrgghhh!!! He wasn't even in it...!!!!! GAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
...Sorry about that. Just needed to vent my number one frustration. BUT, aside from that, Ubukata-sensei has done it again-- "Gone / Arrive" is beautiful and moving and illuminating and--yeah, you won't stop crying during the entire thing. It picks up all the unsaid, unseen little pieces from episode 24. The despair, the grief, the raging that Kazuki does after losing Soushi; Kenji's misery at having lost his mom, Mamoru, and Sakura all at once; Canon trying to find a place and a way amidst all the misery; Maya finding resolution for her issues from "Stand By Me" (now I see why they're called "volume 1" and "volume 2"--there are a lot of things connected between the two). --We even get a look at Fumihiko's silent suffering at watching his son despair and slowly decay... it's a gorgeous and tender exploration of all the momentous things that must have been felt and decided during that pivotal episode 24. It's a little tribute to Akane, too, (much needed!). And even though we are not graced by Soushi's beautiful voice and presence, his presence is felt (and no KazuMaya!! AH HA HA HA HA!! In fact, the drama parallels Fumihiko losing love-of-his-life Akane with Kazuki losing Soushi... what does that tell you? ^_____^)
Go buy it. Now. And have your tissues ready!!! <3
