As much as Ivan would usually be fascinated by this sort of almost frivolous machinery and seemingly unrealistic way of fashioning them... He was bored. Bored and tired mostly, the buzz from any previous intoxication long gone, leaving him with now just a dull ache and a never ending spell of fatigue, the sleep he'd managed to get thanks to that girls walking marshmallow had long ended supplying him with energy

Theta is (temporarily) your minion.ergaleomancerApril 12 2010, 22:18:29 UTC
Theta had much the same reaction as her teapot did to Ivan--a jump, a bit of panic, and then she forced herself to breathe so she could look at him and try to process what he was saying. "Ah...I go back to the dorm for that..."
She looked at him carefully for a moment, then moved to get her cane. If he wanted to do something, chances were he wanted to do it -now-, and if he wanted to do it now, then that meant being ready to move right away.
"What would you like to do?" And by that she just meant she wanted some idea of where they were going--she wouldn't put it past him to simply scoop her up and stalk off.
Ahahaha Minions, I love them~frostyfaucetApril 12 2010, 22:40:10 UTC
"I want to bathe." He repeated himself, pulling himself up before stopping for a moment to seemingly stare in the adjacent corner of the workshop, looking towards where Theta kept her larger machines. He only froze for a second however, before shaking his head and continuing to rise giving his hair another brush through.
"Where is your room?" He brushed his blazer off, re-adjusting the scarf around his neck while she watched him, tempted just to grab her again but... She was being quite complient all things considered, so he decided to let her use her own two legs to get there this time around "Is it being far or close- are you even on school grounds?"
He had no idea whether Theta had been re-roomed or not, so he decided to ask- if she wasn't on school ground they were going to the Gym, the Gym having showers. True, they were group showers, but at the moment nudity wasn't the Russian's biggest concern- washing and waking himself up was.
"Girls' dormitories..." She felt a bit awkward going in there, though. She certainly didn't feel like she belonged in there, and she doubted Ivan would appreciate it, either. "We could go to the boys' dorm, though...I don't think...anyone would notice..."
He seemed to be getting himself situated, so she grabbed her oft-neglected school bag and quickly shoved in...anything to hand, really, just hoping she'd have enough odds and ends in there to keep herself amused until this...thing...wore off or at least until they came back here.
It was surprising--Ivan was getting to be a lot calmer...or was it simply that she was no longer projecting other emotions onto his actions? She wasn't honestly sure any more, actually. But even so, progress was progress, she supposed, and she was even getting a meal out of it. She nodded obediently and stood to follow him, moving along as quickly as she could. Fortunately, going down the stairs wouldn't be quite so difficult as going up had been.
"...Thank you, Ivan. It's...very kind of you to take me out..." Even if it no doubt was simply so he could go, it was a nice gesture on his part.
[Don't worry Theta, you really won't be seeing anything that Ivan can see, so you don'tneed to reactfrostyfaucetApril 19 2010, 00:01:52 UTC
He moved as he heard the movement from behind him, his gaze into the bathroom cut short as he looked downwards quickly, picking his scarf up by the end that was strewn close to the doorframe- white, he'd seen white again in that mirror, againHe didn't want to know what it was, and he wasn't going to give himself the oppotunity to find out

Theta wasn't an idiot. She could tell that Ivan was upset, and nervous about something. The question lay more with whether or not she was going to write it off as characteristic Russian madness or if she was going to....something

He watched as she got herself together and sat on the top step, a brow raised questioningly as she did so, the other raising as she spoke to him and told him to stay close. It wasn't until she started sliding down the stairs that he realised what she was doing, following behind her as she ungracefully made her way down the stairwell

There were different kinds of friends, she supposed. If Ivan wanted to press the issue, she wasn't sure how she'd manage to answer him--there were different kinds of friends, the kind one would pull out all the stops for and bend over backwards for (Arthur and Grell were in that category), there were the friends that one felt kindly towards but felt no duty towards (she had a few of those back home), there were the friendly acquaintances that might yet make their way up through the 'ranks' to a deeper friendship but had not yet...that was what she was offering to Ivan, a chance to become friends with her, not idiotically offering him the keys to her heart instantly

"That's...where my family comes in. My father is the High Ergaleomancer to the Queen. That is...he builds her whatever she wants, and also takes care of her body the way a physician would. My parents hoped for a son for my father to pass on his knowledge and titles to, but...I was born a girl, and my mother's constitution was too weak to bear another child. They...tried to love me for the girl I was, but...ever since I can remember, ever since I was old enough to know, I wanted to be the boy that they'd needed. I started cross-dressing as soon as I was old enough to dress myself

He listened to her as she talked, at the moment still looking out on the scenery as he continued to smoke. She sounded like she'd done quite well for herself, all things considered, though some things were still unanswered- he had an inkling why, but the Russian was nothing if not a sadist

The ballerina didn't have hair, and if Theta had been thinking about it, she would have suggested Ivan take her to a toymaker. That wasn't a part of her field of expertise, nor was she in the habit of carrying around things to make doll wigs anyway.
She closed her eyes for a moment, but she didn't seem like she was going to fuss about not telling. "...An explosion. But if you want more than that you're going to have to share the cigarettes and the drink." She opened her eyes and smiled at him, teasing him a little bit rather than actually being demanding.
