Since I posted any book reviews? Eh. In addition to being stinking hot and humid, I've been having troubles with the laptop overheating this summer. Which is playing merry hell with accomplishing *anything* on any of my computer-related projects. And now, books for this year.   I'm actually finding it helpful to write down my impressions because a) I remember the books better, and b) it forces me to stop and analyze just what I like and don't and why.  Is anyone surprised if I say it's all about structure?  (No, I didn't think so.)

It's not as hot as yesterday, but still too hot to do anything strenuous. It's even too hot to spend long with the computer on my lap, but I decided it was time to catch up the reviews.

An idle evening at home, so a good time to post my backlog of reviews.  I feel badly that I can't say anything more useful about the SG-1 stuff without spoiling it.  Pretty much the Fandemonium folks are doing a decent job- these read like good solid gen fanfic.   For the most part, I just wish there'd been a bit more offworld villainy and less ( Read more... )

Another weekend gone by too fast- it was pleasant though, and I got a bunch of outdoor things done.  (Don't ask about the remix.  Bleh.)
