I think it's just a really heavy-handed thing where they are trying to liken John to God, WRT the absenteeism and abandonment and unquestioning obedience and unreasonable demands lacking enough love to balance them.
But, SO overly done. God, daddy issues, we get it already. Move on already!
Oh definitely, I was mostly being rhetorical. cidercupcakes and <;j user="inlovewithnight"> have been joking *forever* about "wouldn't it be hilarious if John was God?" But. They were *kidding.* When the parallels started to get *so* ridiculously obvious we were all like O_o, really?
And I agree that it really feels forced at this point - but I don't think we're done with it yet.
I deeply adored this episode. I was on the edge of my couch clutching a pillow waiting to see what Dean did. UGH UGH UGH can it be next Thursday already? It is weird that I'm a little upset that the show is going into next season? I'm just not sure where they can have it go from here without it being too unreasonable. Drunk Cas = Best Cas. Many hearts.

Not at all. You're not the only person I've talked to who feels that way. I'm pretty sure that having another season *is* a mistake because yeah, I don't know where they're going to go either (but then I tend to think that where they *are* is a little unreasonable already). We'll see, though. I'm not sure you can come back from "apocalypse." Unless you're Buffy, of course.

Not at all. You're not the only person I've talked to who feels that way.
