I don't generally do memes and this is the second one in two days, but it keeps popping up on my flist and I really am struck by how apt the fandoms-as-relationships analogy is. Or maybe that just says something about me?

Dollhouse is gonna break all of our hearts into itty bitty pieces.

Also you do not want to start catch up on Heroes. You will end up bored and pissed off and really what is the point of that.

Also MERLIN! I have a link bookmarked at home with a vid that in any other fandom would be totally out of context but with Merlin is pretty much how it happened. Gayest show ever. Just be warned: I sat down at my computer to watch the 1st ep I had dled and then ended up dl'ing all the eps that had aired and watching them all that day.

Yes. Yes it is.

I've been hearing that about Heroes, which is why I haven't bothered with it this season yet. I liked s1 a lot, but I wasn't so impressed with last season and as far as I can tell nobody has anything good to say about s3.

I have heard Merlin complete, ridiculous, slashy crack. I downloaded all of it last night, but I don't think I have time to start watching it right now!

NOTHING good to say about Heroes. And that's even from a non-fandom perspective. I keep watching, waiting, for SOMETHING good to happen. There are little glimmers of good quips and bits, but god. I feel like I'm wasting my life watching that show.

Yeah, at this point it's at the bottom of my list of shows to catch up on. It really is sad, because it was SO GOOD when it started.

I keep wondering, "Why the fuck do I always watch Heroes when it AIRS, yet I still haven't caught up on Dexter?"

Because obv. Dexter > Heroes, by an infinite amount.

Heroes WAS good when it started. And I'll admit, the were doing really great things with Sylar this season-- it was really what I was watching for (I'm a sucker for change and growth). But after last night's episode especially, I'm back to meh. And back to "WHY DO I HAVE TO WAIT TIL JANUARY FOR SUPERNATURAL/BONES/EVERYTHINGGGG."

I haven't seen a single episode of Dexter all season - but Dexter is a show I like to watch all at once, so I'll probably wait until the season is over and then just marathon it.

Okay, I hate Sylar, so doing great things with him probably wouldn't have helped it for me. I was disappointed he wasn't dead at the end of last season.

I hate that we have to wait for January for SPN. :(

I think I'm subconsciously waiting for Dexter to end so that it can be watched it all at once, too. Seeing what I saw made me too impatient for the rest of it.

I wouldn't say Sylar is doing great things... but we're seeing a lot of torment and growth in him. There are some "revelations" for him that make him change his behavior, but now he's just kind of flip flopping between bad guy and good guy. I kind of wish they'd kill Suresh already, too.

And it makes me sad for SPN. Seriously? A WHOLE MONTH!?

Suresh used to be my favorite, but everybody I've talked to really dislikes him this season. :( It makes me sad.

Maybe I would like Sylar more if he was tormented and growing? Probably not, though. The only thing I ever liked about him was that we could slash him with Suresh, and even then I only liked him -occasionally - in fic, not on the show.

It makes sense, I guess, SPN really hasn't had any reruns yet this season. It's still a long time.

I'm surprised there's not lots of "brotherly" slash now involving Sylar. Maybe there is? I think a big problem I have with the show is too many characters with too weak of plot. There's no way to trust the show, the characters, and it keeps people really detached from it.

God. Suresh... I used to like him. But now he's just whiny, manipulative, blinded by science.. just boring.

I'm . . . not even sure which character you're talking about, which shows what I remember about this show. I haven't read, or even paid attention to, Heroes fic in well over a year. There used to be Petrellicest though, so other incest fic wouldn't surprise me.

It definitely has too many characters, which makes it difficult to engage with them, and if I can't engage with the characters, I can't engage with the show.

Exactly! YES! Thank god my crush on Dean Winchester evolved, otherwise, poor SPN would have gotten the boot.

I keep waiting for Heroes to stop sucking or for Peter to take off his shirt more so I can not care but nothing. They've gotten into the habit of making characters do stupid shit to move the flimsy plot forward or they've totally retconned things that MAKE NO SENSE. It's ridiculous and I honestly don't know why I both anymore. Most Monday's it's been so lame I can't even remember the plot 20 mins after it ends.

I have heard Merlin complete, ridiculous, slashy crack

All that and more! &MERLIN

Ugh, I hate retcons and I hate when characterization is sacrificed for plot. (This is why I love SPN. Plot is always sacrificed for characterization. I am OKAY with that).

I did like Peter with his gun, though.
