When I moved here and I was complaining about the potential weather everybody kept saying to me "but at least you'll be somewhere that has seasons" like that was a good thing. DNW seasons unless the season in question is summer. Today we had icy winds and some kind of horrid precipitation that was almost-but-not-quite snow. By February I'm going ( Read more... )

horrible cold and teasing not-rain-but-not-quite-snow? That's been all we've gotten in the past few years. :(

Oh wait - you haven't been here for the ice yet. The ice is even more fun.

I have not read the sparkle books, but your recap amused me.

DNW seasons unless the season in question is summer.

WORD. And I say that as someone who's lived through 41 Canadian winters. We are in the middle of a snowstorm as I type. :\

*g* Well, other people's recaps will probably be more amusing. I expected to be more amusing, but the creep factor got to me a little more than anticipated. I've only read the first book and I've been debating reading the others, but I'm kind of leaning toward no.

Ick; I'm sorry. I think this is as far north as I can live. I'm just not cut out for winter.

TrUST THE RECAPS. The first book is the only one that can even claim a hint of being written non-poorly. They just devolce into crappy fanfiction from book 2 on.

No, REALLY.

Yikes! Duly noted. I know the entire plot of all of them by now; I just can't help being curious about the execution.

I am disturbed that 12 year old girls think this is the most romantic thing ever.

That's my main problem with it. Everything about their relationship is creepy. If that was in any way textually acknowledged; if it was played as unhealthy, that would be one thing, but instead it's SO ROMANTIC. :\
