So you don't think Lindsey deserved to die? because I thought it was pretty clear that he was still all about himself and the only reason he was helping was he figured he could move in and take over W&H.

Also, I never got the sense he loved Eve. He was more interested in fucking Angel (literally, figuratively, philosophically...)

Oh, I don't know whether he loved Eve or not. I just like that kind of evil-in-romantic entanglements dynamic. I was fine with it being mostly about Angel; I just figured that liking Eve in any capacity was fairly unpopular. And to be honest, I liked the idea of her more than I actually liked her as written ( ... )

I wish there was more canon universe fic because I'm not that big on AUs or crackfic?
A HUNDRED THOUSAND MILLION TIMES YES.
I am such a "canon" whore in any sense, but goddamnit, don't remove canonical obstacles. Deal with them! That's more fun!

Ahem.

I agree. There are a lot of AUs I like a lot, don't get me wrong, but I like the ones that stick close to canon best.

RE: Wincest: YES. All of it. YES.

And I agree about Lindsey. I really didn't like that it was Lorne that took him out, nor did I agree with the fact that a gun was used. It seemed off, off, off. And I? Never hated Eve. Kinda liked her actually.

It's hard for me to talk about Wincest, because I always feel like I'm coming across all "I don't like it" . . . and that's not it necessarily. I just think it's tragic by definition.

I liked Eve more for her potential than for what we actually saw, but I do think there was interesting stuff there.

I feel the same way about talking about Wincest. I'm not against it at all, but before I really got into the fandom I honestly thought I'd be all about the Wincest and was surprised to find I wasn't. And when I am feeling Wincesty, I prefer pre-series because I think the canon lends itself to the isolation and stress factors and dependency issues that sometimes lead to incestous behavior, but post-Pilot Wincest rarely works for me.

And I flat out can't read established relationship Wincest. But, like you, I'm a build up whore. (I also don't like the use of the term established relationship in regards to Wincest, it tells me nothing because they're brothers, that is their relationship and it's established. *cough*personal peeve*cough*).

I simply never understood fandom's hatred for Eve. I thought she had potential to be a great antagonist

I see what you're saying and that does make sense. I'm the opposite though, in that I actually do squick over the idea of wincest when they're younger. Wincest very, very rarely works for me in the sense of me actually buying it. Like, almost never. Like, maybe twice. There are a whole lot more very well written fics out there. It's a fandom with talent. I just really have to be sold on it and that's almost impossible to do.

I hadn't thought about it that way wrt the "established relationship" terminology, but you're right.

I admit I was a little mad at Eve for not being Lilah. But that doesn't mean that there wasn't potential there. I wish they'd done more with her.

And I thought Lindsey's death was thematically inappropriate and that bothers me TO THIS DAY
God, I know! Lorne shooting him was such a gutpunch. Why PTB, why???

How does fandom feel about Cally/Tyrol?
I don't know about fandom, but that's one of my least favorite ships. Ever.

That interview where Ryan says they don't like "Time to Dance" anymore makes me sad?
:( :( Why don't they like it anymore?

God, I know! Lorne shooting him was such a gutpunch. Why PTB, why???I know why the killed him, I think. It was about consequences because he *wasn't* redeemed. And Lorne doing it was about sacrifice and loyalty and showcasing Angel's ability to make hard decisions. I just don't think it worked because of everything else that was also going on in the episode. I walked around feeling punched in the gut for two weeks ( ... )
