Torchwood: 2.12

Ugh, Anne Rice makes fandom wank again. I guess it's been awhile since the last time? Her crazy hurts me. Sometimes I have deep-seated secret worries that I have too much fannish entitlement syndrome when it comes to bandom (and I might, actually, I just try not to air it in public) but then I realize that really, nothing is ever going to ( Read more... )

Aw, come on. You had to see that whole sibling vibe with Ianto and Gwen! Hee.

Seriously? I've been loving on it all season. They're so cute. He totally tells her all about Jack ("rubbish manners in bed- so I've heard!") and obviously, he goes behind Jack's back for her in other ways too, as per Adrift. I loff them.

Jack's Favored Children. *nods*

Heee. No, mostly I'm teasing you. I do see it. I don't know if I would have said "sibling" before you and Fod did, but until recently I really wasn't watching with quite the analytically fannish eye that you were. I love TW, but I was always more fannish about DW and more of a casual viewer of TW. I definitely love the dynamic between Gwen and Ianto. I find the fact that Ianto went behind Jack's back for her in "Adrift" absolutely fascinating. How much does he know about the island and why? Did he know what she would do? Knowing about the island, did he agree with what she would do? He is so compelling, I'm not sure how I ever thought he was boring.

Well, to be fair, Ianto has gotten more compelling this season. I mean, Cyberwoman was an amazing reveal, but after that, he did very little until the last couple of eps. This season, we are really seeing more from him, in terms of his relationship not only with Jack, but with the rest of the team as well. He has even had moments with Owen, which I love.

I hope they do something similar for Tosh next season. I want my girl to have a freaking arc, dammit.

I am glad you are more fannish for TW now. It makes me giddy. :)

That's true; he's definitely more interesting now. And yeah. I want an arc for Tosh desperately.

Heee. Nothing can really compete with bandom for me these days, but I've have absolutely gotten more fannish over TW this season - for TW in its own right, rather than just as the Dr. Who spin-off.

Well, that's what I meant. I know nothing can drag you away from emo boys in eyeliner atm.

Although if anything could, Tosh has a killer rack, doesn't she? *G*

But things can be momentarily distracting! Tosh's rack among them. :)

Hee. It momentarily distracted me for an hour.

*g* Perhaps I used the word "momentarily" imprecisely.

Oh I listened to that song inspired by ee cummings the other day. It was pretty good!

Cool! I'm glad you liked it. The Hush Sound were a band I was only tangentially interested in until their new album, but I've sort of fallen in love with their most recent stuff. Even if I can't recognize when they're riffing off 20th century poetry. /o\
