i am now a Magna owner!
went down to Georgia this past weekend . . . and brought back a Honda Magna!!
oh, is he ever purdy!
i couldn't have asked for a better bike for me! and i'm sooooo glad i went with this instead of the Shadow Aero . . . this Magna is all i'll ever need in a motorcycle!
headed down on thursday, splet and relaxed on friday, was supposed to get the bike friday night, but we postponed it till saturday . . which worked out great! i got there, and ended up meeting a friend from a board i belong to! seems he knows the seller, and came out to see the bike, hoping that just maybe the mystery buyer would back out ;) HA! but i'm pretty confident that he's pretty happy i ended up with this sweet Magna!
he took most of these pictures while teh seller and i took care of the paper work . . then i took it for a spin around the parking lot . . :D :D :D
then i let my friend take it for a quick spin around the lot . . and in exchange, he helped me get it loaded up on the trailer for my 14 hours drive home the next day . . . BUT, not before we went riding around town . . . couldnt just let an entire day go to waste with a Magna sitting on a trailer, now could i? ;)
that first ride was just a cornucopia of emotion . . elation, nerves, excitment, nerves, giddyness, nerves! i mean, come on . . from a lil' Rebel 250 to a Magna 750? yeah, bit of an adjustment . . but i did just fine ;)
we did a lot of starts and stops . . even had my first panic stop on the Magna and handled it pretty damn good, if i don't say so myself ;) . . we hit some curves, and some hills . . . pretty much a little bit of everything! was a fantastic first ride on my Magna!
sunday, i drove home . . . got a good nights sleep and spent monday getting the title transfered, getting plates and tags, and then just riding! everywhere! anywhere! Megan wanted to go riding so i picked her up and we tooled around a bit. got out on the freeway . . traffic was so light at this particular time of day . . . so i opened him up just a bit . . . i just HAD to! . . and yep, i took him to 100 . . . :D . . .really tho, i wanted to see if 'I' could do it . . cause i already knew the bike could do it! . . damn that was fun!
this bike handles like a dream! the suspension is smooth . . soooo super smooth! the things that would send my spine jabbing at my brain on the Rebel, i barely felt on the Magna!
i'm just really super geeked about this bike!!!
after we spent some time riding around town, and after we got my bike securely tied down on the trailer, i was given the chance to sit on my friends Valk. which is HUGE! omg, HUGE! honestly, i could NOT lift this bike! probably, i could have, but i was afraid that i would have had to pull so hard, that i would have knocked myself right over the other way! so he lifted it for me . . and i could barely get both tip-toes down on either side!
then he told me to ride it. HA! hahahaha! HA! right!! no way i was riding that bike unless it was as a passenger!
instead, 'he' climbed up on behind me . . . seroiusly, we were both on the front seat . . .hysterical!
he held the bike up, i got my feet up on the pegs, hands on the controls . .
"start it up" . . . ok, so i did . . .
"pop it in gear" . . . um . . .ok . . . so i did . . .
"now let's go!" . . . oh hell no! i cannot operate this bike!!
"oh, yes you can . . c'mon" . . . hm . . alrighty . . . so i let off the clutch . . gave it a little gas . . he picked his feet up and off we went! for about 20 yards or so! then we came up on a turn and i made him grab the controls again! LOL . . he turned the bike, and took the controls again . . shifted gears . . sweet!! . . he turned us again . . . and then took over for the last bit back to where we started . . yeah, that was a whole lot of fun!!
