Thursday - Today, give us a drabble about a Learning Experience. Positive, negative, or entirely unclassifiable up to you.
When you read about people in positions of power you assume they do daring deeds, save lives, rescue maidens, that sort of thing.
What Paul does not expect his first day is the stack of papers on his desk and the words "Get cracking."
Reports to file, people to meet, witnesses statements to check. Thus was the life of a new FBI agent. He'd bitch and complain, but what he never realized was that without him there'd be no witness statements, no people waiting to give statements, no record of anything.
You save lives with paperwork. Something nobody ever learns.

She was beautiful and deadly. Every time he looked at her he thought of the shark.
He had been three. The animal beat it's head against the glass, teeth exposed. He screamed and refused to bathe or go near water until his parents finally dunked him in the tub screaming.

Her Blood tastes like wine and sickness, like all the colds he's ever had.It's all his favorite foods and all the things he has abhored. He clutches his chest as the fire spreads. Freedom.
