Miniatures work

So, after having worked for about three weeks or so on my miniatures challenge, I'm making some pretty good progress and I believe that I'm more or less on schedule. It took me the better part of a week to get the two boxes completely assembled, cleaned, and primed ( Read more... )

I am thoroughly impressed. Very thoroughly.

Also, I hadn't ever seen a Dryad. That's awesome. It's like pumpkinhead meets treant.

I've always liked the concept of tree spirits that were more destructive, because if you look at those trees (I forget the names, it's some sort of Ficas I think) that are tearing Angkor Wat to shreds as we speak, you don't always get the impression that they're all a bunch of old, wise, benevolent old fogies that sit around helping faerie princesses find their way back to the castle blah blah blah.

Can't wait to see one painted.

I'm going for a general winter theme for my Wood Elves when I get around to painting them. Lots of muted pale grays and greens. So I'm going to paint the Dryads as a ghostly ash with dead leaves on them.
