As I was walking home from the train today I saw a tree that had fallen over and landed on this poor lady's house and car.
The tree was in the causeway, technically the Village's responsibility. It had grown too near the street, which meant that all the roots grew towards the sidewalk, as they couldn't grow into the road. And, previous Village trimmings meant that it had few branches over the road, while many were over her house. It rained for the last couple of days, and as the ground got wet, the weight of the tree pulling against a shallow base just finally tipped it over.
You don't expect to see things like this.
