How do you start your day?

I am not working right now and so my mornings are often my own. I can do whatever I want. I usually start my day by reading email and then checking Facebook. I get several regular emails which often give my day the lift that I need. I am not a morning person. My hub knows to leave me alone until I start talking. When I did work my fellow employees could tell if I had been up longer then my drive into work or knew to be careful with me if I walked in with a Venti Starbucks. It takes me a long time to fall asleep at night and a long time to come back into the world in the morning. So, I usually start my day slowly. I love it when one of my regular emails gives me something that lifts me up and makes me feel especially good. I get two daily devotionals: http://www.ucc.org/feed-your-spirit/daily-devotional/, www.d365.org. These always add to my morning most often with inspiration but even if what they add is frustration it still helps to get me going. I get several poetry readings: http://www.poets.org/poemADay.php, www.panhala. net/Archive/. The panhala offering is usually not there first thing in the morning but the poem a day is. I struggle with poetry. It is not something I easily understand but I absolutely love it when I do and it touches me. I love that someone can write something that touches me and makes me want to share it or talk about it. I also get some good news emails because I just hate that what we see on tv or read in the paper or even get in the Yahoo news feeds is usually sad, tragic, violent, or the like. We know there are good things happening around the world, why can't the news media share those things with us: DailyGood.org, http://www.awakin.org/read/(I get this one only once a week), http://action.sierraclub.org/site/PageServer?pagename=Signup_DailyRayOfHope. I especially love the Daily Ray of Hope. It has a lovely photo and a quote with meaning. The panhala email is supposed to come like that also but for some reason I only get the poem, if I go to the website I can see the photo that goes with it. Seeing these things, reading this stuff, helps prepare me for my day. They often give me the lift I need to actually get out of my chair and get going. Maybe they will help you also. Start your morning with some inspiration or a spiritual lift and often it will carry through with you all day long, or at least that is my thought about it. It also gives me conversation starters (if I need them-stop laughing, I do sometimes need them). Thanks for reading, hope I inspired you. TTFN
