I Bought A Lotto Ticket Tonight 'Cause I Seem to Be On A Winning Streak
Life has been it's usual. I realised I'm not only worn out when I get home from the training we're doing at work for the new systems & products coming in soon, but really by the time I get home & get dinner done I've only got a couple of hours before bed time. No wonder I can't seem to get anything done and am feeling forever-behind here. I miss you all!!!!
So my biggest news is that the necklace I entered in the Bead Hold's contest won in the Kiwiana category I submitted it for! I found out a few days ago & haven't had a chance to post here about it. I'm thrilled & very honored. I understand they didn't have as many contest entries as previous years, but still to be chosen is an honour. I beat out a completely beaded Buzzy Bee. Here are the photos of my piece & the other winning entries. I've got a gift certificate for the place (can't pick it up for a couple weeks while they get things together) & some other goodies they'll put together. I want to get some silver-filled wire so I can make myself a nice bracelet, maybe one for Carol and maybe one to sell. Silver-filled is expensive (not as bad as stirling!!) but is a really good alternative, better than silver plated. It's still pricey but it won't be as bad and the certificate will help.
I also got an award at work for going beyond the call--called Service of Excellence. I wasn't at the award meeting, I elected to stay and do some work. It's nice to be recognised for doing a good job. And I got a $30 gift certificate for it too. It's still the temp role, only til Jan but fingers crossed I can find a way to stay in the team.
Other than being busy, I am doing pretty well. I am a bit stressed about the changes at work, more because it's a big change & I get to be a Newbie all over again after 11 years.... oh well. I'll adapt and get through.
