so i've decided to go through an apprenticeship at a schmancy health club to become a certified personal trainer.
up til now, i've seriously struggled finding a career path that suits me. i've come to realize that people that claim they want to hire people that are "assertive" and "self starters" really want people that will shut the fuck up and do it they way they are told, even if that way is not right.
let's list the things i've done to try to make a living up til this point, shall we?
Waitress (Hated it but it was cash money. Can't get hired to do it now though soooo that sucks.)a
BA in Drama / BA in English (With honors- should have been set for any job right? RIGHT? Wrong.)
Stage Management (Semi successful, I still get hired to do this...on a good contract I'm making like, $7 whole dollars an hour.)
Substitute Teaching Credential (Fail. No teaching experience = no way to get hired, apparently.)
Licensed Cosmetologist (Fail. I'm too intelligent and assertive for the hair industry and people don't actually like that, even though they advertise that they want those assets. $30,000 waste of time.)
Online nudie pictures (Which have saved me from being homeless pretty consistently for the last two years. Sad but true.)
i'm really hoping the being a personal trainer is a good fit for me that will be fulfilling AND lucrative. it seems to be pretty much the only job i can do where my assertive, self motivated, ball busting personality will be valued as an asset rather than an intimidating factor that keeps people from wanting to hire me.
or it will be a waste of another couple thousand dollars and another certification that will amount to very little.
