Tea in New York [RP for Tm_northstar]
Nathaniel arrived at Lady Mendl's Tea Room in Gramercy Park in New York a few minutes before he was to meet JP. Nathaniel was not nervous, precisely, but he was sharply aware of the pervasive feeling of oddness of meeting someone who actually seemed to like him.
He'd been sleeping with Rachel for a great deal of time before she ever professed to liking him, and Isobel used to squeak when he looked at her. Nathaniel was not accustomed to having people view him in any sort high regard, unless they wanted him to, say, unleash a virus on an entire planet.
Luckily, his outing today was simply for tea, not the Legacy Virus. Nathaniel was dressed as he always was, in his customary suit and tie, and he had masked his appearance so that he appeared human. He was led to a table and sat, fingers steepled beneath his chin, wondering if he should remain in his human appearance or not. He did not want JP to squeak when they were having tea, but Nathaniel knew his appearance was somewhat distracting. The eyes tended to make people nervous, and while JP was a bit strange and his sense of humor baffled Nathaniel entirely, he actually did not want the young man to be afraid of him.
