It was warm enough out that Asuka was wearing her school uniform without any extra insulation or adornment beyond her normal accessories as she started on her post-Christmas shopping. Her father and stepmother had, as usual, made a gift of cash, which suited Asuka fine - she chose to think of it as being given the gift of shopping, and was currently making the most of that gift in one of Tokyo's numerous shopping districts.
For now she was window-shopping. With Duo and Kaji gone (as usual) and Shinji hanging out with his idiot friends, she had no one she could reliably shanghai into carrying things for her anyway. Thus, she was lost in comparative thoughts and debating between new coats while wandering down a familiar if very crowded street.
