Hi Wende,

I'm very sorry that I was not chosen for the position, but I can only hope that the decision was a wise one and wish you and Amnesty International the best. I know that my lack of hard news and human rights experience probably held me back in the process. I'm also sorry you could not speak with someone from BlackBook; they are on deadline and never answer their phones or check voicemail during this time.

Having said that, something very life-changing happened to me. It was discovered that I was interviewing for the position and that I decided to pursue a career in non-profit work or a similar field. I was let go from my company as a result of this revelation. Honestly, I was very unfulfilled and unstimulated doing PR for coffee makers and champagne - not surprisingly given my background and worldly interests.

I am at a "crossroads", so to speak, but I have given some thought to "Plan B". I would like to volunteer in another country doing human rights work. Do you have any suggestions?

Of course, I realize you're very busy and probably have little time for a silly request from a rejected candidate. I just thought that you might be the best person to go to with this inquiry, and I really respect your opinion. Also, I want to thank you for believing in my potential throughout the lenghthy interview process. It gives me hope that I can reach my goals.

Sincerely,

Holly Morganelli
