so, we're in english today discussing "the flies" by jean-paul sartre. and we're talking about religion... and the conversation gets turned toward x-tianity. t.c. schmitzer is talking about its faults; more specifically, with sin. so tarra, being th pious missionary that she is; is all like : well, x-st died for your sins and blah, blah, blah. then eric (oh, the crusader for x-st) chimes in with his search for the grail and schmitzer starts asking valid (VALID!) questions that tarra and eric don't have the answers for! it was so fucking hilarious! i decided to extrapolate on my "search for the truth and nothing else" dogma. i have written so far is: "if you believe or think, then you have already found. but because you have found nothing, then accpet that you are still searching. search for the truth and nothing else.it's an interesting view, at least that's what i think... i'd like to clean it up quite a bit. i wnat the finished product to make it apparent that we know nothing about our existences and therefore should not worry about anything but the search for Truth (big- T "truths"). because the only thing that we should think of is the idea of nothingness, that we know nothing. billy brought up a good point today: that i should quote socrates. he reminded me of the story where socrates went to visit the oracle at delphi. the oracle told socrates that he was the smartest man in the world. socrates agreed only because he realized how little he knew. i want people to realize that arguing over things like religion are trivialcompared to the things that our boddies and minds are able to accomplish. our bodies are able to defy the laws of physics, but still we argue over heaven and hell. over jesus and shiva. there are xiaolin monks who can throw chopsticks through ceramic plates without breaking them, they can throw straight pins through blocks of glass and hit a target on the other side. bruce lee was so quick with his punches and kicks that film makers had to speed up their recording just to catch him on film. there are psychicswho can transcend space time to see events in the past and present. we could be expanding our minds towards telepathy or psychokinesis. but we while away our time watching "sesame street" and "HBO", fantasizing about "harry potter" and computers that enslave our minds. how small are we! and we're supposed to be the most intelligent form of life in the universe? how? we can't even open up our minds enough to accept that there might not be a heaven or hell, or that there the way of x-st may not be the best way. today schmitzer said something to the order of: to actually believe that there is only one universal truth, or god is absurd. i completly and utterly agree with him. and i am not able to grasp, for the life of me, why tarra and eric were offended by that statement. we are all so simple minded with our self-relevant truths. i'm so tired of living in this state of idiocy. god, take me now! allow me, help me to let go of myself so that i may see only you.
