Last year I fell out of the habit of reading fiction for relaxation.
This year when making new year's resolutions I said that I would
'Read (and finish) at least three novels' in 2009.
It was a fairly lazy objective, but I had set myself 25 new years resolutions. This one represents one novel a quarter so its achievable no matter what other craziness took over my life.
I achieved the goal over a one week holiday break in January. The books I read were:
The First Casualty - Ben Elton.
Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea - Jules Verne
and
The War of the Worlds - HG Wells.
Now at the recommendation of a several old friends I'm reading 'The Forever War' - Joe Haldeman.
Where to from here?
