Vacation’s over and I’m back to my usual daily routine.
I got to work before everyone else, just like most days. At 9AM, I walked to get coffee and breakfast with Julie, our Webmaster and we talked about my vacation and about the road trip she had planned for July. At noon, I took my friend Myla to her birthday lunch. We went to Amelia’s and I ordered their chicken taco salad and fruit juice like I always do. Afterwards, I attended my regularly scheduled analyst meeting and talked about workload, helped revise some plans or policies, and discussed upcoming changes that need to be implemented. When I got back from the meeting, I started a draft of the job announcement I have to prepare for an upcoming recruitment. And managers who like to bug me on a regular basis are bugging me again, as usual.
It’s now 5:30 PM - I should be headed home. Instead I’m here late because it’s Monday and I usually work until 7PM on Mondays. I’ve got a long ways to go. I’m hungry but refuse to take a piece of the carrot cheesecake that my office mate is offering on account that I’m trying to diet - a routine I always consciously stick to but never succeed - and I’m thinking about brewing a pot of coffee but I’m so lazy to walk the length between my cubicle and the kitchen to get water.
Typical!
About the only difference to my routine today is that my sister didn’t carpool with me this morning (on account of her 3-month sabbatical **jealous**) and I had to drive my dad’s truck so that my regular car can get a-fixing.
Well I best get back to my projects and shake off some more this vacation mode I seem to be still in cause the rest of my little world is already back to its old routine.
PS. Let’s all pray that Italy beats Bulgaria and Sweden beats Denmark in tomorrow's European Cup 2004 game so that I can still see more of
Nesta.
PSS. WOO-HOO! Way to go
Junior!
