[Dark, murky. You can almost smell the nighttime air from the video feed.
When the video flickers on, we get the familiar image of the Blackthorn City Gym gates in all their shining glory. The small figure trudging out of it seems to be fairly scuffed, strands of hair out of place here and there and mild singing to go with the edges of her jacket. She seems to be a little worse for wear, but upon walking forward, she looks up a little, unconscious of the video feed running.
A long pause, and then, completely uncharacteristically, she balls her fist tight, and throws it up--]
Yes!
[A tight, fierce, constrained cheer of her own. Despite the streaks of dirt on her face, an evidence of a tough struggle all of its own, the grin stretching from ear to ear is true and fierce. She repeats herself, almost in disbelief, palm opening to display a badge cradled within.
Another hiss, joy.] Yes...! Yes, I...
[A Gengar's chuckle, almost fond, and she whirls around, color already spreading across her cheeks. Eyes darting to the video feed!] You-- Give me that! [Striding forward hastily, she reaches for the camera--
a loud bugle cuts through the air, and the audience gets a beautiful image of Franziska's shocked face, along with a Milotic's head, proud and true, before the video feed suddenly spirals upwards--
At first, all you can see is a part of a Milotic's horn, and hear Franziska's sharp breath. Then, the camera feed turns outwards, and the entire expanse of Blackthorn City spreads out before the viewer. Just on the horizon, the sun is rising, just barely, a finger of light at the horizon that touches the sky pink.
Route 45 spreads like the unveiling of a world.
Franziska breaths in, and exhales.]
... For all of its faults, I suppose this world does have something of a saving grace to it.
