It's just like the announcement made during last week's "Miraculous Birthday" event when Zero suddenly appeared.
The New Code Geass Project has started in baby steps.
This new project consists of production in various medium such as comic serialisation, music, expansion in merchandising range as well as video works, all of which will be distributed each in a fixed interval.
To start with, please take notice of the mothly Newtype released on December 10.
And so... No, there is no other possible explanation other than that yet.
We will make each project announcement in an order of sequence.
Please keep anticipating the next Code Geass the same way as the Code Geass you've experienced up until now.
Therefore, we wish you will support us.

All I can see from this announcement is the 'VIDEO WORKS' part. If it's not new anime, it's OVA.

Ugh. It's time like this that makes me want to keep saying "I DON'T UNDERSTAND JAPANESE LALALALALA~". It's still exciting, but yes... When they said 'fixed interval', the video works totally refer to OVA.
There goes my hope for a new anime season... Well, now that I think about it, the announcement they made on Lulu's birthday last week gave me the impression that if they were to make a new season of Geass, it would be something like Superhero Zero saving damsels in distress or little kids, or abused ex-Area-11-now-Japan citizens.
Pfft. If so, DO NOT WANT :\
I don't think Sunrise would stoop that low, though, so yeah...
