One thing after another

Tears streaming down his face rain spattering against the windows of his soul baring the emotions setting them free WHY he screams MUST THIS BE ALL THERE IS? Is he to be left, alone, with only his tears for companionship? Only the sweet release of agonies long kept imprisoned in his heart, his mind, his soul always living, growing, stretching deep, deeper, til they are buried and forgotten SUDDENLY uprooted and thrust into the light exposed and naked to the world then he turns, returns to that safe haven. He expects good feelings, security, love, compassion, a shoulder to cry on, a loving embrace. He opens the door to his love's residence to find ASHES! A scarred shell of what once was, but never truly existed. His friend, turned against him? HIS TRUE FRIEND! forgotten... laid aside... he seeks comfort and finds a cold shoulder, an unseeing eye, a deaf ear... he sees a hand, the hand he longs to hold, fingers locked in the embrace of another. Sinking to his knees, his heart racing him to the floor, jaw open, breathing in waves of shock, tasting the salt of a sea of sudden solitude, floating... lost. His hopes of one day reaching shore, lost... The promise made to him, lost... FALSE pledges, NEVER to be kept, taunting SCREAMING at him, memories once so sweet and dear now sting in his flesh, tear at his heart, each with a set of fangs like needles... how... when? WHEN? Laughter in the distance, dying. He strains to hear it, holding on til the last. Dead sound. Nothing. She's gone.
