Source: This is my grandmother's recipe for the best Mac & Cheese ever!
Comments: I have tried making mac & cheese before, but it just never compared to my grandmother's so I finally asked her what she did. I was shocked at how much cheese she put in it, but when it is all cooked it doesn't seem like there's that much in there.

Prep Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 65 minutes
Makes: 9x13 pan

2 cups Macaroni
1/4 cup Butter
1/2 cup Flour
2 lbs. Shredded Cheese
2 1/2 cups Milk
Ritz Crackers

1. Cook & Drain 2 cups of elbow macaroni.
2. Mix 1/4 cup butter and 1/2 cup flour with the hot macaroni*.
3. Add 2 pounds shredded cheese and 2 1/2 cups milk and fold into macaroni^.
4. Pour into pan and cover with crumbled Ritz crackers.
5. Cook @ 375 for 45 minutes.
6. When it is done, let it sit for a little while - then serve.

*Optional: onion powder, dry mustard, salt and pepper.
^Other ideas: I love broccoli, so I steam some up and add that to the mix as well. It is really easy to cut this recipe in half, but it also freezes very well. Sometimes my mother makes three smaller pans - that way we can enjoy later without the mess.

* This is the recipe cut in half, so the pan is smaller.
