Back update

The back is somewhat better. I'd like to say that it's better enough to entertain thoughts of going back to work at my current jobss, but it's not. I'm not sure what to do about that. Both jobs require repeated bending. I could switch roles at the companies, but then both would be during the day. Ready or not, it's time to move on. Plan A is the Data Analyst job I already mentioned. Plan B is going back to work for a company I've already worked for. Full-time, but it's seasonal and will last only for a few months. Plan C would be to alter one or more of my current jobs so I could keep them. Overnight stocking is out, but I might be able to find a daytime replacement. Welcome to a sheduling nightmare. I don't know how other people do it.

As for the back problems themselves, they are improved. It doesn't hurt to do every little thing anymore, but getting up and sitting down is still problematic. Stairs aren't a big deal. I've figured out how to get things off the ground, if necessary. I just have to kneel down with my back straight and grab the item. Then I reverse the process. Looks ridiculous, but it works. I tried driving today and found that it was relatively problem-free. I've even carried my fat little dachshund up and down the stairs.

Bottom line: I think I'm getting better, but I can't be sure. I worry about what will happen when I go off of the pain meds.
