Dorothy better back off!! Our cleaning lady followed me to the bathroom and waited for me to come out of the stall to talk to me! We stood in the bathroom for 15 minutes talking about her janitorial staff meeting, her hair appointment this afternoon, and how she installed an alarm system in her house b/c someone tried to break in and kill her at 4AM about a month ago.
Yesterday Macon flooded and I had to miss the final Harry Vaughn Smith lecture b/c I gave my umbrella to my neighbor when I was coming back from class. The other two lectures from 2 days ago were very interesting and thought provoking...Dr. Hull talked about The Da Vinci Code which basically proposes the idea that Mary Magdalen was Jesus' wife. During the second lecture Ryan and I drew beautiful pictures. I have one in my room of me as the pope in my pimped pope mobile. I drew lovely pics of Dr. Spears which inspired Ryan to draw SICK pictures of ME and Dr.Spears. Later that night I met up w/ Mr. Newman to see what kind of trouble we could get in. We ended up breaking into Newton Chapel to go on the roof. I know that sounds wrong, but it's so much fun. I was such an idiot b/c I wore my black boots which are not conducive to climbing and being quiet. The first thing we did was shimmy (yes, shimmy) down a ladder/pole thing to get to the basement windows and I dropped my phone. Yep...it hit every rung on the ladder and broke at the bottom...so much for being quiet!! Then we crawled into a window, walked up 4 flights of stairs, went through the darkest rooms ever and finall crawled through this rat-infested attic thing to get on the roof. The entire time this guy was playing freaky organ music and on the way out we almost got caught b/c he was leaving and we walked right by the door that led to the room where he was. I love the thrill of doing things like that. Yesterday I worked out in the UC w/ Adrianne for the first time since October. My goal is to work out at least 3 times a week again...we'll see how that goes, lol. I think I've also decided to give up chocolate chip cookies for lent. I know that doesn't sound like much, but I've been eating at least 10 a day and I'm not even kidding. This is going to be extremeley hard for me to give up, but I'm determined to kick this addiction. Well, it's time for me to get ready for my class. We get to talk about my favorite author, Flannery O'Connor!!! "Oh look at the cute little pickaninny!' she said and pointed to a Negro child standing in the door of a shack. 'Wouldn't that make a picture, now?' she asked and they all turned and looked at the little Negro out of the back window. He waved. 'He didn't have any britches on,' June Star said. 'He probably didn't have any,' the grandmother explained. 'Little n's in the country don't have things like we do. If I could paint, I'd paint that picture.' she said." You've got to love O'Connor's sense of humor!!
Love In HIM,
Jessica
