I was out when this was on and so, because iPlayer hates me, I decided to tape it! Everyone thinks I'm daft keeping my video recorder, but it very rarely lets me down! (Unlike my computer, which seems developing a new problem every time I turn it on.) So, anyway...
- I actually noticed that Amy was counting down before it was pointed out! Not like me at all, I'm usually a bit thick. The whole "something in her eye" thing freaked me out a bit. I'm not good with eyes.
- "What thing?" / "I don't know, it's a thing in progress. Respect the thing." I expect I'll be nicking that line at some point.
- I really loved the scene when he's leaving Amy in the forest. "If I always told you the truth, I wouldn't need you to trust me." Very true. And it was a bit cute when he kissed her.
- All this talk of River killing someone. The Doctor maybe? Given what Octavian and River herself said made it seem likely, but maybe that's too easy. Just have to wait and see...
- "I wish I'd known you better." / "I think, sir, you know me at my best." And we have my first incidence of tears this series. First of many, probably.
- And the last scene, where Amy again comes straight to the point. None of this moping around, unrequited love stuff for her. Makes a change. And I did love the Doctor being a bit slow, and then running like a startled rabbit!
- They did notice the crack, it's got something to do with Amy's wedding and it's why she doesn't remember the Daleks. It seems to be a convenient way to get rid of any problems left behind by RTD without rebooting the whole thing. I also noticed we're back in the present day. Amy's from 2010 and her wedding day is the 26th of June, which presumably is when the finale is airing. And River will be back and mentioned the Pandorica. A lot going on.
So, to sum up, really enjoyed it. And liked the look of next week. It'll be interesting to have Rory along, I like having more than one companion, and there are vampires. In Venice. What's not to like?
