It is funny how the internet has developed into its own universe. I have been pretty much away from the internet for five months and in a weird way it has been liberating. But now that I am at home and on vacation I am catching up with it. I have been communicating with friends who I have lost touch with and I am observing new trends like twitter, which to be honest I still do not get. I have spent my share of time on the internet or really wasted a bunch of time on it. I do kinda miss blogging, which is very difficult while on the ship. However, I hope I can make a better habit of blogging on my next contract. This year is my gap year and I am not expecting any normalcy, but I am loving all the travel. And it is not like I have any jobs waiting for me in LA, so the cruise thing works out well.
Need to start getting ready for Guatemala next week. My mom is not happy that I am going there. It is true that I am going to have to be more careful traveling in Central America than in other places I have been to such as Europe and Asia. I have a couch host lined up when I arrive. He is this Guatemalan guy that I met last year who was living in LA for a bit and who is now back in Guatemala. As with most couchsurfers, he is one of those interesting people that you do not often meet. So hopefully, that will make my travel transition a little easier. Despite, how much solo international travel I have done and I have done a lot, it still is always a bit daunting. I have to say couchsurfing has made things a lot easier.
Ok, so that has been my quick update. I am going to look through some of my friends lists to see what everyone has been up to. I swear I have been in a bubble for five months.
