spiraling downward

The guys have what is called a "Charette" somewhere near down town Detroit this weekend.  They're doing urban planning in the ghetto areas of Detroit with their studio.  I think it's great and I love talking with them about it.  Detroit has some serious problems though and I know college student won't be able to change things, but maybe make an impact on the surrounding communities to pull together.  The City of Detroit government has some SERIOUS problems.  To the point where MANY Detroit folk do not see an end to it, ever.  It's sad.  It really is.  I really wish our voices could be heard.  I think that by doing research, interviews, etc. it will hopefully turn some heads.  It seems like people in this area, and in the state of Michigan are so nieve about what is going on.  It's bad.  Really bad.  Detroit needs a change and that change needs to happen FAST.  They are in a spiral downward and it's not going to change unless some serious things change.  SO, while the guys are off in a ghetto neighborhood of Detroit in some old almost abandoned house all weekend, I'll be here by myself again.  They had something similar last weekend, but not so "dangerous."  I hope they can work hard enough for some changes to be made.  I hope their voices can be heard.

My spring break plans don't consist of much...but hopefully it will be relaxing.  I'm hoping to get together with a couple people on Sat March 10th.  I'll work 12 hours through Monday-Wednesday and Wednesday afternoon I'll head up to Grand Rapids.  I'm meeting up with a couple friends for dinner and I'll spend some time with my Aunt and Uncle and their grandkids -- my cousins.  Sometime on Thursday or Friday I'll be driving home to spend a few days with my family.  This will probably be the only tim I'll come home during this semester.  We'll see...it's always TBA.

I have 5 friends who are pregnant and expecting this spring.  I'm so excited for them.  This weekend is a baby shower for one.  I can't be there since it's in Ludington.

My life is pretty same 'ol, same 'ol, so I don't have much more to update on.  My summer plans are still up in the air.  I'm filing out paper work for possible classes down here.  I will know for sure during spring break.

Keep in touch and hope to hear from you all soon!

Loves.
